From Prototype to Production
From Prototype to Production is for apps built quickly with AI coding tools that now need to hold up with real users, real data and real payments. We find what could lose data, leak information or take the app down, fix it in your code, and leave you with an app you can keep building on instead of rewriting.
Who it's for
AI coding tools are good at producing something that works on the happy path. They are less reliable at the parts users never see: access control, input validation, secrets, error handling, database design, backups and deployment. Those gaps rarely show up in a demo. They show up when real people, real data and real traffic arrive.
- Founders who built a prototype with an AI coding tool and are about to put paying customers on it.
- Teams whose AI-assisted app works in demos but breaks, slows down or behaves oddly in production.
- Anyone who has been told their app needs a full rewrite and wants a second opinion first.
What you get
- A written audit of security, data handling, code structure, performance and deployment, with every issue ranked by risk.
- Fixes for the critical and high-risk issues, made directly in your repository.
- Automated tests around the flows that matter most, such as sign-up, payment and data export.
- A repeatable deployment with environment variables and secrets handled properly.
- Error reporting and basic monitoring, so you hear about problems before your users do.
- Speed fixes for slow pages and APIs.
- An ordered list of what to fix next if you want to continue on your own.
What do we check in the audit?
- Security. Authentication, authorisation on every endpoint, exposed secrets, input validation and vulnerable dependencies.
- Data. Database structure, migrations, backups and what happens to user data when something fails halfway.
- Reliability. Error handling, logging, background jobs and the flows that break under load.
- Deployment. How the app is built and released, and whether it can be rebuilt from scratch on a clean machine.
You see the findings before we change any code, so you decide what gets fixed and where your budget goes. Our checklist from vibe-coded app to production shows the same checks in more detail.
How it works
01
Tell us the problem
What takes too long, what breaks, or what you want to launch.
02
Agree the first step
Together we pick the smallest piece of work that makes a real difference.
03
Build
We build in short iterations and show progress after each iteration.
04
Handover
Documented, deployed and yours, with optional ongoing care.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a project like this cost?
It depends on scope, so we do not publish fixed prices. After a short scoping call you get a written proposal: a fixed price for well-defined work, a phased quote when parts are still unclear, or time and materials for ongoing work. The start date is agreed in the proposal.
Do you rewrite the app?
Not by default. The goal is to make what you have safe and reliable. We only recommend rebuilding a part when fixing it would cost more than replacing it, and the audit explains why.
Which tools and stacks do you work with?
Most AI-built apps use mainstream web stacks, and we work with the common ones. Send us the repository or describe the app in the brief, and we confirm fit before any paid work starts.
What do you need from us?
Access to the code repository, the hosting account and a test account in the app. If you already have users, tell us which flows they use most so we test those first.
Can you keep working on the app afterwards?
Yes. You can continue with new features as a custom project, or move to the Care & Growth plan for maintenance and improvements.

Tell us about the problem. A problem or a spec both work: we will suggest the right first step.
